She then completed a cardiology internship at Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital before moving to the United States to complete a cardiology internship followed by residency at MedVet Cincinnati. Dr. Beekmann has special interests in the management of chronic heart failure, arrhythmias, and minimally invasive cardiac procedures. Dr. Beekmann loves developing relationships with her patients (and their pet parents!). She loves teaching pet parents, students, interns, and interested veterinarians more about cardiology!
While originally from Vancouver, Dr. Beekmann is excited to be back in Ontario. When not in the clinic, she can usually be found at the barn riding her ponies! Dr. Beekmann competes in mounted games (like relay races on ponies) and has recently been selected to represent Canada at the next World Team Championships in France!
